DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
Wandoo Rehabilitation Prison is WA’s first dedicated Alcohol and other Drug (AOD) rehabilitation prison for women in custody.
In early 2018 SEME was contracted to upgrade the CCTV and Security Communications Network at the Prison in Murdoch, WA.
The scope of works was comprehensive and included the supply, installation, interfacing, engineering, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the following Security Services at the Wandoo Reintegration Facility (WRF), Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Facility as well as External Perimeter and new Entry Building Works.
• Security Management System (SMS)
• Electronic Access Control System (EACS)
• Intruder Detection System (IDS)
• Perimeter Protection System
• Intercom System
• Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) System
• Mobile Duress Alarm System (MDAS) and
• Security Communications Network (SCN)
The project included the construction of a new Entry Building, that houses the main Security Equipment Room (SER) and the Master Control Room (MCR) for the facility. The new Entry Building was constructed outside the existing perimeter fence and provides the facility with a new visitor and vehicle entry point, including a sallyport. The existing fence and perimeter detection systems have been relocated, or expanded, and interfaced with the new Entry Building security systems.
This project is another example of SEME Solutions expertise in the seamless integration of multiple security technologies.
